Public Relations Representative Debbie Waskow spends her time promoting Superior Auto Service. Always on the go, you will rarely find her at the shop, but may find her at an American Business Women's Association meeting, a Leading Women's Express Network membership drive, a Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours in Bryan, Texas, or involved in other College Station TX community events.
Dan has seen a lot of changes in automobiles in his 39+ years experience in Bryan College Station Texas. President, general manager and owner of Superior Auto Service, Dan got interested in automotive repair by working on his own car during his high school years. "Automobiles today are considerably more sophisticated with their on-board computer systems," Dan continued "and my staff stays up-to-date with the constantly changing technology. With proper maintenance, Bryan College Station TX cars last longer now. We see vehicles that have had proper maintenance with 200,000 miles on the odometer." Dan has degrees in auto mechanics from Temple College and Texas State Technical College. He earned his first ASE Certification in 1975 and is now an ASE Certified Master Technician, ASE Certified Parts Specialist and ASE Certified Service Consultant. After years of repairing vehicles for a local dealership, Dan started his own business in 1981 with a partner at a two-bay Texaco station in College Station Texas. "We knew we could give better customer service than the dealership," Dan said. The business quickly grew, moved to its current location in 1983, and Dan bought out his partner in 1988. In time, Dan began making the transition and a career change -- from mechanic to businessman with training and classes from the Automotive Management Institute. He is a graduate of Leadership Brazos, has served with industry organizations like the Automotive Service Association and community groups like BNI Aggieland Professionals, Brazos Independent Business Alliance and the Better Business Bureau. One of his roles is helping determine what's wrong with a vehicle from a customer's description of the problem. "It's like being a detective sometimes. What helps the technicians is knowing exactly when a problem occurs and under what circumstances," Dan said.
As of July 2, 2010 Tom Burch has retired from Superior Auto Service, after 24 years of service.
We wish Tom all the best as he enjoys his retirement in Bryan College Station Texas.

Trey, originally from Wisconsin, moved to Houston with his family in 1984. He has worked in the trade for more than 25 years, is an ASE Master Certified Technician, and he owned his own shop for 12 years - Mechanics At Large - right here in Bryan College Station Texas. Perhaps you're wondering why someone would want to go from owning his own business to working for someone else? We asked Trey that question. Here's what he had to say. "After several years of working for other people and learning the business, I figured why not do this for myself"? Well, I found out that working on cars and running a business are not the same thing. Little by little the business stuff consumed me and took me away form what I was best at, and what I liked the most - working on cars." Next, we asked Trey why he joined the team at Superior. After all, someone with his experience could have gone anywhere. Here's what Trey had to say. "As a competitor of Superior for 12 years I knew all about their reputation as being a shop that does quality work for a fair price and treats their customers well. I have known Danny Menard for years, we used to work together, and I got to know Dan Waskow also. As it turned out, things just came together. As they say, timing is everything. At the same time I decided that I wanted to get back to being a tech, Superior had an opening, so here I am."
